February Mutterings from the 'East'

February 2014. Hi Everyone,

It's ‘Andy from the East’ muttering this month and there is plenty to ‘mutter’ about.

Life at the East branch has been a bit wet and wild recently, as it has for us all. We lost power for six days over Christmas along with a few roof tiles and a bit of guttering. I hope you’ve all come through the storms relatively unscathed and we can all look forward to the lighter nights and maybe spring not too far away?!

In November last year we held our first Open Weekend and I would like to thank our customers for their support, not only with new orders but with coming along and having coffee, cake and a catch up. On that note I must give a special mention to one of our customers, Mrs Chisholm, who provided us all weekend with a constant supply of fantastic homemade cakes.

The East branch enters its 5th year with several new additions to announce:

Firstly I would like to introduce two new members of our team: Alan Price who has joined us full time to support Ian in the service and preparation department. Alan has been around caravans and motorhomes all his life and is already proving to be a great addition to our team. Jose Goncalves also joins us in valeting and preparation (see photos of them both above)

Secondly we now have a new covered workshop bay, which should be finished at the same time as my mutterings! Ian has waited a few years for this but it’s here at last (photo above).

Thirdly, as many of you already know, we now have the addition of the Lunar Sussex Special Edition range. We have already hit the ground running with this fantastic lightweight luxury product. Coupled with our Coachman special editions and a small selection of the Elddis range, 2014 offers our best selection of new caravans ever.

Last but not least we have been working hard at both branches to improve our website. We now have videos of our stock as well as pictures. Here at the East branch the voiceover job fell to me so no sniggering - I am doing my best! I must say Andy O’Neill at the West branch is a natural, wish he could do mine.

NEC Caravan & Camping Show
Dave Peters and I are once again going to the NEC in February (18th to 23rd). If you are attending the show and would like to meet us, even if it’s just so we can sit down and have a coffee, we will be working between the Coachman, Lunar and Elddis stands.

As it can be quite busy at times please ask for us at reception on the manufacturer stands or ring our show mobile (from Monday 17th to Sunday 23rd). We can then arrange a time and a place to meet you. The number is 07763526042.

We already have several appointments to meet some of our customers so if you know which day you are going then give us a call at our East branch on 01342 851393 and we can make an arrangement so we don't miss you. It’s always great to see familiar faces from the south and Dave and I will be happy to show you around.

On the pre-owned caravan front, we have had many part exchanges dropped off early as customers await the delivery of their new caravans.  We currently have, at both branches, a great selection of different makes and layouts to suit all budgets - probably the best choice we have ever had. So if you are thinking of a change, either pop in or have a look at our website.

I think that's enough ‘muttering’ from me - thank you for your support during our first four years and onwards into season five.

Happy Caravanning
Andy Parsons
ps: please keep the puppy pictures coming - they are great.
